I use Kate Farms as an *oral* supplement for my toddler with hypotonia and feeding difficulties.
I switched my child from Pediasure Organic to Kate Farms recently for a few reasons: more calories (1.2kcal/ml versus 1.0kcal/ml), helped improve her intermittent constipation, and I personally like using the plant-based pea protein over cow milk protein/whey protein as my child is also drinking cow milk and eating yogurt.
There is no real, proven health benefits of some of the substitutes in Kate Farms Pediatric: agave syrup (over cane sugar) or brown rice syrup (over corn syrup). These are all processed and refined sweeteners. There is still a significant amount of added sugar and the drink is super sweet, but when you need your child to gain weight without side effects, it works really well. It's expensive and probably not much "healthier" than Pediasure Organic/Pediasure 1.0. It is great for children with allergies.
